Lighting contest: Best Residential

There are a lot of superb lighting displays on a lot of good-looking homes in and around Milford and Dingmans. Considering conflicting tastes, we knew there was no good way to contrast them all, even if we had the chance to see them all. So, we chose the one that would seem nicest to come home to on a snow-white holiday night; and that was the home of Patrick and Deborah Beck at

200 West High Street

. With its garlands, wreaths, warm outdoor lighting, and candlelit windows, it stood out.

Country Christmas tree Lighting

When one is stays at rural America during Christmas time, one glimpse into the past. The crisp, cold, country air, silent atmosphere will makes one remember an era, which is gone in one’s life. Escaping from Macys, Target, crowded Christmas gigs and parties, was the way of sharing in a unique Greek Orthodox Christmas ritual: the Christmas tree lightning at the Kimisis tis Theotokou Church of the Hampton. 

 

“We have been working from long time on a Christmas Tree lightning with Father Alex,” said Dimitrios Hatgistavrou, President of the Parish Council. “This year we are going to have the celebration lightning of the tree with remote control. Rose and Teddy Vellis of Revco really made this possible. The highlight of our Christmas season is this event. We thank all who have been working to make this possible.”

Recycle your furniture for a good cause

Housing associations in the city today said that they will now like to offer furniture recycling plan to help their tenants buy cheaper furniture and combat problems of fly tipping. 

 

They spoke as the National Housing Federation recently formed a new partnership with the Furniture Re-use Network in a bid just to make furniture recycling plans more widespread across the country.
