City could crack down on discarded furniture
An ordinance up for thought by the Henderson City Council Monday night would crack down on abandoned furniture and other debris.
The ordinance will outlaw dumping furniture and other stuff on the streets, curbs, sidewalks and front yards of lots in the city. If any such stuff is left in place for 48 hour, the city would automatically be authorized to pick up the debris and charge the owners or occupants of the property trash carrying fees. However, this does not necessarily mean that sanitation workers would take away the debris.
